Anita Fleerackers
Nature? Of course, nature! Nature has always been a source of inspiration for artists. For Anita, too, it is an inexhaustible source of inspiration. Read more…
Feelings and Characters
Emotions and characters, rendered in a minimalist style.
Time and again, built by hand in various stages—waiting, composing, and seeking balance, time and again. A piece must be just right, because even if you apply your most beautiful color during firing, if the form is poor, the beautiful color won’t help.
Getting a feel for materials, taking the time to do so. I call it “respecting the clay,” because when I work too fast, the clay rebels, refuses to cooperate, and spits out its anger in a thousand pieces in the kiln.
Beautiful colors. Pixel art!
Nature’s beautiful colors in all seasons. Early in the morning, the freezing cold that hangs in the air as the sun rises. It creates a prism of colors in the sky, or the sun trying to break through the mist. The many shades of green in spring and the splendor of blossoms, summer by the sea, autumn with all its shades of red, brown, and yellow. Winter, a lone rose buried beneath the snow. Her paintings are memories, which, like photographs, contain thousands of pixels, built up from squares measuring approximately 1 cm by 1 cm. Pixelism! Labor-intensive yet soothing, and unique.

Art Shopping Paris at the Carrousel du Louvre.
Took place at the Salles du Carrousel du Louvre.
ArtExpo New York

Artexpo New York is constantly developing new programs that highlight the power of art to spark conversations we might not otherwise have.
It took place at Pier 36 in Manhattan’s trendy Lower East Side and features both emerging and iconic artists, from Andy Warhol and Robert Rauschenberg to Yayoi Kusama and Mr. Brainwash.
RED DOT MIAMI

Red Dot Miami offers an impressive array of specially curated programs that shine a spotlight on exhibitors, art industry professionals, and selected nonprofit organizations and institutions.
It took place at the iconic Mana Wynwood in the heart of the thriving Wynwood Arts District and ran concurrently with its sister fair, Spectrum Miami. Red Dot offered a unique opportunity to connect with blue-chip galleries and emerging artists—all under one roof.
Venice

My works titled “Sparkling” were selected and exhibited in Venice at the BORDERS ART FAIR as part of the exhibitions HYBRID IDENTITIES – SECRET SPACES – FUTURE LANDSCAPES – VENICE INTERNATIONAL ART FAIR.
The festival focuses on the concept of “boundaries”—between the soul and the body, between people and urban space, and between the city and the land. The festival explores the idea of human and urban boundaries, how people experience them, and how they are changing in contemporary society. Every person lives in a world where boundaries shape their attitudes and behavior, restrict their freedom, and create a sense of alienation. People respond by breaking through these boundaries and finding a new way of life. We envision a world of “fluid cities,” where differences create new possibilities rather than forming social barriers.
